Nearing

Countdowns that live on your desktop, visible while you work rather than tucked away in a menubar. With widgets, and companions for iPhone and iPad.

Mac

PunchyCaptions

Adds bold, animated, word-by-word captions — the karaoke style short video runs on — to your clips, then exports a clean MP4. Script or transcribe on-device; nothing leaves your Mac.

Foista

A shedding card game with a wicked streak — stacking twos, a red jack that bounces a pickup back, out at 301. Twelve self-taught opponents, and built for the way iPhone Duo folds.

Who we are

Based in London · UK

Decades in the software industry — today focused on Mac, iPhone and iPad.

We'd rather get the small things right than ship in a hurry — the polish you might not notice, but will feel.

About the name

Gorillas can't frown.

They lack the facial muscles humans use for it. But they still experience the same emotions. They just can't express them that way.

It's a reminder not to judge others by our own capabilities, or assume that people who can't express things the way we do don't feel them just as deeply.
